Revival of 'Problematic Men' Brings New Dynamics to the Show

'Problematic Men' (옥탑방의 문제아들) made its much-anticipated return on April 3, 2025, after a hiatus of 1 year and 3 months. The new season of KBS2TV's popular quiz show features a mix of original cast members and fresh faces, creating an entertaining clash of personalities. The show, which first gained popularity in 2018, combines quiz-solving antics with guests sharing their life stories. This season sees the return of original members Song Eun-yi (송은이), Kim Sook (김숙), and Kim Jong-kook (김종국), alongside new additions: genius Hong Jin-kyung (홍진경), brainy engineer Joo Woo-jae (주우재), and the witty Yang Se-chan (양세찬). During the premiere, the original trio congratulated each other on their comeback. However, the arrival of new members sparked playful tension, particularly when Kim Sook expressed surprise at Joo Woo-jae's presence. Joo Woo-jae showcased his intellect during various challenges, prompting Kim Jong-kook to refer to him as the 'brain of the entertainment industry.' This led to humorous exchanges about the 'seniority' of the original members, with Joo Woo-jae jokingly acknowledging the competitive atmosphere. Hong Jin-kyung, known for her carefree personality, recently passed her middle school equivalency exam, proving her dedication to learning. Yang Se-chan also joined in the fun, humorously admitting to feeling overwhelmed by the knowledge of the original members. Despite the lighthearted rivalry, the original team ultimately triumphed in the first episode, earning a coffee truck delivery to D University in their names. The next episode promises guest appearances from Jo Se-ho (조세호) and Nam Chang-hee (남창희). 'Problematic Men' airs every Wednesday at 8:30 PM on KBS2.
