Comedian Park Sung-kwang's Wife Lee Sol-i Shares Her Cancer Treatment Journey

On April 3, Lee Sol-i, the wife of comedian Park Sung-kwang, shared her experience during cancer treatment on Instagram. She posted a heartfelt message along with several photos, including one taken by her husband when her hair was starting to grow back after chemotherapy, which she humorously described as looking like an acorn.

Lee also shared a photo from the day of her surgery, which she had sent to Park, who was busy filming a movie at the time. In her post, she reflected on the importance of health over appearance, stating, "Like many women, I care about my looks, but I realized that if you’re not healthy, all of that is meaningless."

She expressed a desire to help others who might be going through similar struggles, saying, "I may not have had the courage to speak openly, but I hope to reduce the number of people who experience despair and pain like I did. Now, I feel a bit relieved that my words about health can carry some weight."

Lee also mentioned her journey with cancer, revealing that she was diagnosed while preparing for motherhood after leaving her job. She shared her guilt about not being able to protect her health and the impact it had on her family. "I underwent six months of surgery and chemotherapy, enduring tough times with frequent visits to the emergency room. I am still on medication and receiving treatment," she added.

Concerns arose regarding her health status, with some speculating that she might have received a terminal diagnosis. Lee clarified in a follow-up post, "There were articles suggesting I might not have long to live, but that is not true. I plan to live a long and healthy life."

Lee Sol-i and Park Sung-kwang tied the knot in 2020 and have shared glimpses of their newlywed life on the SBS variety show, Same Bed, Different Dreams 2 (동상이몽2-너는 내 운명).
