Controversy Surrounds Sulli's 'Real' Film Scenes Amid Director Change

The family of the late Sulli (최진리) has raised allegations regarding forced filming of exposure scenes in the movie 'Real' and questioned the change of directors. However, recent reports suggest that the actual reason for the director's departure was related to allegations of embezzlement and misappropriation against the original director, Lee Jung-seob (이정섭).
On April 4, a media outlet reported that the controversy surrounding the forced filming claims linked to Sulli's scenes in 'Real' was not due to the director change but rather stemmed from Lee's alleged financial misconduct. It was reported that Lee left the project due to accusations of receiving excessive payments for labor and operational costs while managing a cultural production company.
'Real,' which was released in 2017, has resurfaced in the spotlight due to recent personal controversies involving the male lead, Kim Soo-hyun (김수현). Sulli's brother has claimed that she was pressured into filming unwanted exposure scenes during production, which has led to further scrutiny of the director's replacement. This situation has gained additional attention as Kim Soo-hyun faces public interest due to his past controversies involving the late actress Kim Sae-ron (김새론).
In response to the allegations, Lee Jung-seob took to social media to express his feelings, stating that he was barred from the set during the audition process and that he had never incited any revelations about the project.
Meanwhile, Goldmedalist, the agency representing Kim Soo-hyun and the film's current director, Lee Sang-rok (이로베), clarified that the exposure scenes were part of the original script and that Sulli was aware of them prior to filming. They also mentioned that a stand-in was used only for blocking during the preparation stages, not for acting.
Despite these clarifications, Sulli's brother has requested transparency regarding the circumstances of Lee Jung-seob's exit, leading to the emergence of the embezzlement allegations. Lee has denied these claims, stating that as a rookie director, he had no opportunity to engage in such activities, emphasizing the impossibility of embezzlement given the circumstances.
Goldmedalist has not issued any further statements on the matter. As public interest in Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Sae-ron's past continues, the resolution of the allegations surrounding Sulli's filming in 'Real' remains to be seen.
