Lee Seung Hwan Celebrates the Impeachment of Former President Yoon Seok-yeol

On April 4, singer Lee Seung Hwan expressed his joy over the impeachment of former President Yoon Seok-yeol through a post on his personal social media. He stated, "I will have a drink today at the performance venue. I usually don’t drink during concert periods, and even my ENT doctor advised against it, but it’s a day for both me and the nation to celebrate. How can I not drink? Plus, a fan sent me a celebratory food set!"
He further added, "Our constitution is intricate, and our democracy is strong. Long live the Republic of Korea!!" along with a photo of the side dishes sent by a fan. This fan wished for a peaceful future for the country and the well-being of Lee Seung Hwan.
Lee has been vocal against Yoon since the declaration of a state of emergency in December last year, participating in protests supporting impeachment. He also filed defamation lawsuits against five far-right YouTubers who spread rumors about him being denied entry to the United States.
Earlier that day, the Constitutional Court held a session at 11 AM in Jongno-gu, Seoul, where all judges unanimously decided to impeach President Yoon. The decision took effect immediately, resulting in Yoon losing his position. This came 122 days after the state of emergency was declared on December 3 and 111 days after the impeachment motion was submitted on December 14.
