Kim Sang-hyuk Makes a Comeback After 20 Years on KBS2's 'Salim Namja Season 2'

Kim Sang-hyuk, former member of the boy band Click-B, made his return to television after a 20-year hiatus on the April 5 episode of KBS2's 'Salim Namja Season 2' (살림하는 남자들 시즌2). During the show, he opened up about his late father and shared insights into his current life.
In a segment filmed in a restaurant alley in Yongsan, Kim was seen actively promoting his restaurant by handing out flyers. He candidly remarked, "I have made mistakes in the past, which led to a lot of negative perceptions. I received offers for public broadcasting variety shows, but many found it hard to accept me, resulting in several missed opportunities to appear."
Kim revealed that it has been two decades since he last participated in broadcasting and shared updates about his family. His mother, at 72, surprised viewers with her youthful appearance, prompting fellow guest Baek Ji-young to comment, "Your mother looks more like a celebrity than we do."
He mentioned that he lives alone with his mother, having moved from a larger home to a smaller one, and noted that the furniture does not match the new space.
Reflecting on his childhood, Kim shared the tragic story of his father's passing when he was just 11 years old. He recounted, "My father fell at a subway construction site while riding his bike home from playing tennis with colleagues on a rainy day. When I went to look for him, I was told to check the mortuary."
He expressed his confusion and sorrow, saying, "It was bewildering to realize that the person who was supposed to check my homework was gone. My mother was only 40 at the time."
Kim also reminisced about how his father's colleagues would visit on the anniversary of his death, which made him feel proud of his father's legacy.
This heartfelt segment has resonated with many viewers, showcasing Kim Sang-hyuk's journey and the impact of his father's memory on his life.
