Yang Soo-kyung Celebrates Daughter's New Chapter in Life

Legendary singer Yang Soo-kyung, known for her hits in the '80s and '90s, is excitedly supporting her daughter as she embarks on a new journey in life. In the upcoming episode of TV CHOSUN's 'Lovers of Joseon' airing on April 7, Yang shares the joyful news that her daughter is getting married.
However, during her interview with the production team, Yang expressed mixed emotions, saying, "My daughter feels like both a son and a partner to me... I thought we would spend more time together." She elaborated on their close relationship, stating, "The bond we share has been filled with both joy and pain, which I feel more intensely as a woman."
Yang's sister, who is also her daughter's biological mother, tragically passed away in 2009. Since then, Yang has taken on the responsibility of raising her sister's children alongside her own son. Reflecting on this, she noted, "At one point, my daughter called me 'aunt,' but now she calls me 'mom.' I think we have grown closer because of the pain we've experienced."
When asked about her feelings regarding her daughter’s upcoming wedding, Yang admitted, "It doesn’t feel real yet. I guess I’ll understand more when she actually moves out after the wedding, but for now, she’s still in my arms," while managing a smile. A preview clip also hints at an emotional moment where Yang fights back tears as she watches her daughter walk down the aisle. Viewers are eager to see the heartfelt family story unfold in the full episode.
