Kim Bora Sends Heartfelt Letter to Late Friend Kim Sae Ron

As 49 days have passed since the tragic passing of Kim Sae Ron, her close friend Kim Bora took to Instagram to honor her memory by sending a letter to the heavens. On April 5, Kim Bora shared a nostalgic message recalling their first meeting at an audition when she was 16 and Kim Sae Ron was just 11. She reminisced about how Kim Sae Ron would chatter excitedly beside her, growing from a middle schooler to a high schooler, and even driving a car unexpectedly.
Bora expressed her affection, noting how much Kim Sae Ron loved receiving letters, making it a joy for her to write notes and messages even on non-special occasions. She reflected on their shared memories, saying, 'You hated the cold, and it’s raining today. Don’t fall, you silly. Just receive my letter.'
This day marks the 49th day since Kim Sae Ron took her own life in February. The 49th-day ceremony is a Buddhist tradition where prayers are held weekly for seven weeks following a person's death.
In her tribute, Kim Bora added, 'Even if we can never meet again, isn’t it nice that we shared moments together?' This poignant message highlights the deep bond they shared.
Interestingly, Bora's mention of Kim Sae Ron's love for letters comes amid serious allegations against Kim Sae Ron's former partner, Kim Soo Hyun, regarding their relationship that began when she was a minor. Kim Sae Ron's family has accused Kim Soo Hyun of 'grooming' her during their six-year relationship, which has raised significant concerns.
Additionally, it has been reported that Kim Sae Ron received a notice regarding a 700 million won compensation claim from Kim Soo Hyun's agency following her DUI incident. This has led to revelations about their private lives, including letters that Kim Sae Ron never managed to send to Kim Soo Hyun.
In a letter from last April, Kim Sae Ron expressed her desire to clear misunderstandings, stating, 'I hope you are doing well. I wanted to reach out because I was scared of the lawsuit and felt isolated. I’m sorry for any pain I caused. I truly wish for your happiness.' She reflected on their relationship, which lasted about 5-6 years, and expressed her hope that they could remain supportive of each other despite their separation.
Kim Sae Ron concluded her heartfelt letter with a plea for understanding, wishing for a day when they could meet again with smiles, and shared her contact information, hoping to maintain a connection despite the challenges they faced.
