TV Chosun to Launch 'Mr. Trot Japan' at 4:30 PM

TV Chosun is set to premiere the first episode of 'Mr. Trot Japan' today at 4:30 PM. This show marks a significant milestone as it celebrates the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and Japan, showcasing the expansion of 'K-Trot' beyond South Korea into Japan.
'Mr. Trot Japan' is an adaptation of the original TV Chosun program 'Mr. Trot,' produced specifically for the Japanese audience. It first aired on February 19 through the video streaming service, Lemino, operated by the Docomo Group in Japan.
In this inaugural episode, 74 contestants, aged between 15 and 73 from various regions of Japan, will compete in preliminary rounds to secure their spots in the finals. The winner, determined by a panel of 10 judges and viewer votes, will receive a cash prize of 100 million won, along with a debut opportunity and special collaboration benefits between Korea and Japan.
One standout contestant who caught the attention of master judge Jang Min-ho is a 20-year-old participant who received unanimous 'All Heart' votes from all judges. This contestant, who works in shipbuilding, learned singing techniques from his grandfather. Jang Min-ho praised him, stating, 'A good singer can convey emotions regardless of language. I believe he would be incredibly popular if he came to Korea, and I would love to bring him along.'
