President Yoon Suk-yeol Impeached by Constitutional Court

On April 4, 2025, the Constitutional Court of Korea unanimously ruled to impeach President Yoon Suk-yeol, leading to his immediate removal from office. The court's decision, which concluded a 111-day impeachment process, was announced by Acting Chief Justice Moon Hyung-bae, stating, "We hereby remove President Yoon Suk-yeol from office."

Following the announcement, singer JK Kim Dong-wook, who had previously supported Yoon, expressed his disillusionment on social media, stating, "I used to think that 2060 would be the year South Korea collapses, but now I fear it could happen even sooner. I had hoped for change, but now I see a grim reality ahead." He also praised the efforts of the youth in opposing the impeachment, acknowledging the difficult times ahead.

Singer Kim Heung-guk voiced his frustration on his YouTube channel, calling the Constitutional Court a "mess" and expressing disbelief at the outcome, stating, "We thought we would win. This is something that shouldn't have happened."

Actor Choi Jun-yong, who has consistently shown support for Yoon and participated in anti-impeachment rallies, shared a heartfelt message on his YouTube community, thanking Yoon for awakening the public, despite the painful circumstances.

Additionally, Yoon-gyeol from the band Jannabi criticized those celebrating the impeachment on social media, urging them to educate themselves about the situation, and expressed his anger over the ruling, stating, "Things are really going downhill."
