Park Bo-gum Requests Song from Roy Kim on The Seasons

On the April 4th episode of KBS 2TV's music talk show, The Seasons - Park Bo-gum's Cantabile (더 시즌즈-박보검의 칸타빌레), Park Bo-gum revealed that he had asked fellow artist Roy Kim (로이킴), who is also his age, to write a song for him. The episode featured singer-songwriters Song So-hee (송소희), Stella Jang (스텔라장), Roy Kim, and the beatbox crew Beat Pella House (비트펠라 하우스), which includes members WING (윙), His (히스), Yellai (옐라이), Hellcat (헬캣), and Huckle (허클).

During the show, Park Bo-gum introduced Roy Kim by saying, "When it comes to the sweetness of love, this is the person. He is an artist of my age whom I have really wanted to meet. Here is Roy Kim's stage." After a sweet performance, Roy Kim greeted the audience, prompting Park Bo-gum to express his admiration, saying, "How can you sing so well?" Roy Kim responded, "I thought you would be listening intently with your in-ears, so I wanted to sing well, but I feel a bit disappointed."

Park Bo-gum then joked, "You look very bling-bling and shining today; I want one too!" to which Roy Kim playfully asked, "What should I give you? A 3-don piece?" He explained his concept for the performance, saying, "This time, the concept is sexy. I wanted to give off a cute and sexy vibe, so I intentionally wore something revealing and adorned myself with jewelry."

Impressed by Roy Kim's eloquence, Park Bo-gum remarked, "You speak so well; I feel like my spot on Park Bo-gum's Cantabile might be taken. It feels a bit like 'Roy Kim's Boom Boom Boom.'" Roy Kim suggested, "How about 'Roy Kim's Big Dipper'? That sounds good. There will be days when you want to go on vacation, right? Always think of me and I’ll give you some gold later," revealing his playful ambition.

Park Bo-gum asked the audience, "Would it be okay if I step away for a moment?" to which Roy Kim humorously replied, "Of course, they wouldn’t like that. If you ask like that, they’ll say no."

As the most frequent guest on The Seasons, Roy Kim expressed his gratitude, saying, "There are fewer shows where we can listen to live music, so I’m really thankful that The Seasons continues to air on terrestrial TV, and I’m grateful to be able to join in a little bit."

Roy Kim also complimented Park Bo-gum's looks, saying, "Seeing you up close, you are really handsome. While doing hair and makeup earlier, I thought, 'I really need to do well today. The two-shot could be dangerous.'" Park Bo-gum humbly replied, "Roy Kim is much cooler," while jokingly adding, "I only see the sparkle."

Interestingly, it was revealed that Park Bo-gum had previously requested a song from Roy Kim. Roy Kim shared, "I received a request to write a song called 'When We Break Up.' I thought I should sing it if I wrote it, but I jokingly said, 'I’ll write it for you,' and then I didn’t hear from him again." In response, Park Bo-gum lightheartedly mentioned, "That’s why I worked with Sam Kim (샘킴). We’re both Kim, but different," and reiterated his fondness for Roy Kim's song, adding, "I really like 'When We Break Up,' which is why I asked."
