NewJeans Parents Deny Reports of Division Among Members

The parents of NewJeans members Minji, Hani, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein have publicly refuted claims of a rift among them, stating that such reports are "not true." The group is currently embroiled in a contract dispute with Ador, a label under HYBE. On April 4, the parents took to social media to clarify that the narrative of division is entirely false and aimed to correct any misunderstandings. They emphasized that all five members have a firm stance against returning to HYBE, a decision made after thorough discussions with their families. They also noted that they had agreed not to pursue legal action unless all five members were in agreement, highlighting their deep trust and unity. The parents expressed their ongoing support for their children’s decisions and confirmed that the members continue to meet frequently, maintaining their strong friendship despite the challenging circumstances. They expressed disappointment over the unfounded rumors of family division and member departures, suggesting that there seemed to be an intent to incite discord. They felt it necessary to address these claims, especially as specific members' names were mentioned. Regarding allegations of disagreements among parents over custody issues related to the contract termination lawsuit, they stated that such matters are private family affairs and should not be maliciously linked to the legal dispute with Ador. The contract dispute began in April of last year due to conflicts between HYBE and former Ador CEO Min Hee-jin, with NewJeans members claiming their contract was terminated on November 29, 2022, due to Ador's failure to fulfill obligations.
