MBC's 'How Do You Play?' Revives 'Lee Kyung-kyu's Conscience Refrigerator' Segment

On the April 5 episode of MBC's How Do You Play? (놀면 뭐하니?), Lee Kyung-kyu made a return as a guest, joining Yoo Jae-suk and Joo Woo-jae to recreate a segment from his iconic show, Lee Kyung-kyu's Go (이경규가 간다), which originally aired 29 years ago. The trio aimed to find motorcyclists who adhered to the stop line at a red flashing light in a children's safety zone.

First aired in November 1996, Lee Kyung-kyu's Go is considered a pioneer in public service entertainment. The show featured a segment called 'Conscience Refrigerator' (양심냉장고), where Lee sought out individuals who respected traffic rules, raising awareness about social norms and ethics across the nation.

The team set up near an elementary school in Gangnam, having previously conducted a similar segment targeting vehicles that stopped at the red flashing light. While they encountered several conscientious drivers last month, the situation with motorcyclists proved different.

Unlike cars, many motorcyclists ignored the stop line and sped through. Frustrated, Lee Kyung-kyu took to the road, covering his face, only to have motorcycles whiz by him as he crossed the pedestrian crossing.

Yoo Jae-suk, known for his love of cars and speed, expressed his anger at the motorcyclists who failed to stop, despite his usual enthusiasm for fast driving. He reprimanded the riders for not following the law in a children's safety zone.

Just as the team was about to give up, one motorcyclist stopped at the line before taking off. Excited, Lee Kyung-kyu, Joo Woo-jae, and Yoo Jae-suk rushed out to catch the rider. The surprised motorcyclist, unaware of the situation, decided to complete his delivery first, leaving the members buzzing with excitement.

The motorcyclist, identified as Hwang Jeong-hyeon, born in 1991, was the only conscientious rider. After finishing his delivery, he returned, prompting the trio to cheer for finding a modern-day model citizen. Notably, he also perfectly adhered to the stop line on his way back.

He shared, "I knew that in a children's safety zone, you must stop at the stop line when the red flashing light is on. Recently, there was an accident on the way home from school, and I hope the paths for children are safe. I believe that if I follow the signals and rules, we can create a safer society."

In a separate segment, the hiking team, which included Ha Ha, Lee Mi-joo, Park Jin-joo, and Lee Yi-kyung, failed to find conscientious individuals picking up trash in the mountains.
