Lee Soon-sil Reveals Unusual Hair Washing Method on 'Boss's Ears Are Donkey Ears'

In the upcoming 300th episode of KBS2's 'Boss's Ears Are Donkey Ears' (사장님 귀는 당나귀 귀), set to air on April 6, Lee Soon-sil has sparked curiosity by disclosing that she washes her hair using laundry soap and dish detergent. The episode features special MC Shin Ji from the group Koyote, who brings a lively dynamic to the show, while Lee Soon-sil channels the long-haired goddess Jang Won-young, captivating viewers.

Lee Soon-sil attempts a self-haircut using a pet grooming clipper, showcasing surprising skill that impresses Jeon Hyun-moo, who quips that her hairstyle resembles a Bichon Frise, making the pet clipper a fitting choice. However, Lee Soon-sil's main concern is not her hairstyle but hair loss. She confidently applies laundry soap to her hair, followed by dish detergent, leaving fellow cast member Kim Sook astonished, asking, "You wash your hair with laundry soap?" Lee Soon-sil insists, "Shampoo doesn’t make that squeaky sound. In North Korea, everyone washes their hair with laundry soap." Despite concerns from announcer Um Ji-in about the harshness of her method, Lee Soon-sil remains adamant, encouraging others to try it.

The laundry soap she uses is covered in black hair, raising suspicions about her hair loss. Nevertheless, she claims, "I wash my hair with dish soap because my hair is falling out. In North Korea, we used laundry soap, so we didn’t have hair loss," while admitting to experiencing stress-related hair loss, which worries her co-stars.

Eventually, Lee Soon-sil finds herself immersed in the world of wigs, providing comic relief. Jeon Hyun-moo jokes, "I thought you had a mushroom on your head. It looks like a poisonous mushroom!" Choosing a wig styled like Jang Won-young's, she exclaims, "Wow, it’s so shiny!" and expresses satisfaction with her new look. Jeon Hyun-moo comments, "You look like Chunhyang," to which Park Myung-soo adds, "No, she looks like Wolmae," both unable to contain their laughter. Lee Soon-sil beams at her reflection in a selfie app, declaring, "I look just like Jang Won-young!"

However, when her husband, who is also struggling with severe hair loss, tries on a wig, Lee Soon-sil disapproves, saying, "That’s a capitalist wig. It’s too expensive, absolutely not!"
