Lee Seung-gi's Legal Win and New Family Joy

Lee Seung-gi (이승기), the multi-talented singer and actor, is experiencing a wave of positive events following the birth of his daughter. Recently, he made headlines by signing a lease for a luxurious Han River view property worth 10.5 billion KRW. In addition, he has won a legal battle against his former agency, Hook Entertainment (후크), resolving a long-standing dispute over unpaid earnings.

Since 2022, Lee Seung-gi had been in conflict with Hook regarding settlement payments, claiming he had not received royalties for his music over the past 18 years. He sent a formal notice to the agency demanding transparency in the revenue from his albums and the payment of outstanding royalties.

On April 4, the Seoul Central District Court ruled in favor of Lee Seung-gi in a counterclaim against Hook, ordering the agency to pay him 578 million KRW plus interest. This victory has brought a smile back to Lee Seung-gi amidst the ongoing legal disputes.

Fans and netizens have been celebrating his recent successes, especially after the joyful news of his daughter’s birth. Earlier this January, it was reported that Lee Seung-gi signed a lease for a high-end apartment in the Han River area, owned by Cha Ga-won, the major shareholder of his agency, Big Planet Made Entertainment (빅플래닛메이드엔터).

According to real estate records, Lee Seung-gi secured a lease for a 255 square meter property in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, for a staggering 10.5 billion KRW, marking one of the highest lease amounts in the Seoul real estate market last year.

Additionally, Lee Seung-gi has been appointed as an ambassador for the Korean Red Cross (대한적십자사), where he will engage in various humanitarian activities over a two-year term, aiming to provide hope to disaster victims and those in need.

Reflecting on his new role, he expressed pride in being able to give back after celebrating his 20th anniversary in the industry last year. He stated, "The positive impact of the Korean Red Cross has been essential for many, and I hope to contribute significantly to their efforts."
