Korean Celebrities Celebrate the Impeachment of Former President Yoon Seok-yeol

Korean entertainment stars expressed their joy over the impeachment of former President Yoon Seok-yeol. Actor Lee Dong-wook took to the fan communication platform Bubble on April 4, stating, "Ah, spring has finally arrived. Winter was too long." This message was sent shortly after the Constitutional Court's ruling at 11:25 AM, indicating his support for the decision.
Previously, Lee had shared a photo of himself listening to Girls' Generation's "Into the New World" during the vote on Yoon's impeachment, commenting that "spring feels closer."
Singer Lee Seung-hwan also celebrated, saying, "I will have a drink at Dream Factory today," despite typically abstaining from alcohol during performances. He humorously noted that a doctor advised against drinking, but he felt it was a day worth celebrating. He added, "Someone from the Dream Factory sent a celebratory snack set. Our constitution is precise, and our democracy is strong. Long live Korea!"
Actress Shin So-yul shared a screenshot of MBC News, writing, "Congratulations to everyone. Let’s all live diligently and rightly together. Let’s welcome spring now." Shin had previously posted photos from protests following the December 3 emergency martial law situation and encouraged voting for the impeachment on December 7.
Actress Kim Gyu-ri posted a photo of green onions on top of instant noodles with the hashtag "#Impeachment." She had previously supported citizens at a rally for the president's resignation by pre-ordering 1,004 cups of coffee and 100 servings of chicken.
On the morning of April 4, the Constitutional Court unanimously decided to impeach former President Yoon, marking 111 days since the National Assembly passed the impeachment motion on December 14, 2024.
