Jung Jae-kwang Sets Record with 9-Hour Walk on 'I Live Alone'

In a recent episode of MBC's I Live Alone (나 혼자 산다), actor Jung Jae-kwang shocked viewers by completing an astonishing 9-hour walk, covering 24.3 kilometers and taking 33,984 steps. The episode aired on April 4, showcasing Jung's relentless walking routine alongside Giann84's bike ride in Jeju Island.

According to Nielsen Korea, the show achieved a household rating of 6.8% in the metropolitan area, making it the top-rated program in its time slot and the highest among Friday entertainment shows. The key demographic rating for viewers aged 20-49 was 3.9%, also ranking first in its time slot.

The most-watched moment came when Jung visited a vintage watch shop in Dongmyo to find the perfect clock for his home. His humorous encounter with the shop owner, who confidently claimed the watch was in 'normal operation' only for it to malfunction, led to a peak rating of 8.4%.

Jung Jae-kwang, known for his roles in various productions like The Outlaws 2 (범죄도시2) and Trauma Center (중증외상센터), shared insights into his life as a 3-year independent resident. His cozy studio apartment, decorated in warm wood tones, reflects his peaceful lifestyle. He maintains a strict diet, having lost weight from a peak of 110 kg to his current 73 kg, emphasizing the importance of self-care.

During his extensive walk, Jung crossed the Dongho Bridge over the Han River and continued to Dongmyo, where he found joy among the vintage clocks. Later, he met his beloved younger brother, actor Kim Yo-han, for a meal and dessert, continuing his walking journey.

Jung expressed that despite his busy life filled with acting and part-time jobs, he often felt an emptiness. He stated, "I realized that when my inner self becomes stronger, I also become stronger. I want to live my solitary life more meaningfully and solidly."

Meanwhile, Giann84 enjoyed a bike ride in Jeju Island, taking in the early spring scenery. He passed through cherry blossom paths and misty forest trails, ultimately visiting a temple to pay respects to his father's memorial tablet after a year apart. Giann84 shared that seeing his father brings him a sense of relief from the pressures of money, fame, and desires, describing it as a cleansing experience.

After honoring his father, Giann84 savored a healthy temple bibimbap and shared surprising news in the studio about declining an award from the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism.

As he embraced the natural beauty of Jeju, Giann84 felt the thrill of bike riding amidst the rain and wind. He reached Geum Oreum, where he took a moment to warm up with instant noodles and tea before heading to the summit. He marveled at the enchanting atmosphere created by the fog, likening it to walking in a mystical dream.

At the top, his friend Jeon Hyun-moo humorously remarked that it looked like the afterlife, bringing laughter to the moment. Giann84 reflected on the extraordinary weather and nature of Jeju, stating, "This was the most mystical experience of my life. It was a day filled with the ever-changing beauty of Jeju."

Next week, viewers can look forward to Red Velvet's Joy in a segment about her joyful home care routine and Jeon Hyun-moo's struggle with a severe throat infection in a segment titled 'Searching for Mumu's Lost Voice.'
