Goo Jun-yeop Remains in Taiwan After Wife's Passing, Cancels Activities

Singer Goo Jun-yeop has announced an indefinite hiatus following the loss of his wife, Seo Hee-won, and is reportedly still in Taiwan. Local media reports indicate that Goo appeared noticeably thinner at Seo's funeral, raising concerns about his return to public life.

In light of Seo Hee-won's passing, Goo has canceled a flash mob event scheduled for February and a beauty clinic opening in March, effectively halting his activities indefinitely. Sources reveal that he is deeply grieving, spending sleepless nights in tears. While there are speculations about his return to Korea, it is believed that he will remain in Taiwan until a statue in memory of Seo Hee-won is completed.

Family members, including Seo Hee-won's brother, Seo Hee-je, are reportedly gathering weekly to support Goo during this difficult time. A close friend has also traveled from abroad to be by his side. Notably, Goo is collaborating with a designer friend to create a memorial statue for Seo, which will be placed near her grave in a designated area for notable figures.

Seo Hee-won tragically passed away on February 2 in a Tokyo hospital after being transported to the emergency room during a family trip. She succumbed to pneumonia caused by the flu just three days into their vacation.
