G-Dragon's Remake of 'Telepathy' Set to Debut on MBC's Good Day
MBC's Good Day (굿데이) is generating excitement as G-Dragon prepares to unveil a remake of a classic group song. The seventh episode, airing tonight (April 6) at 9:10 PM, will showcase a gathering where participants share meals and auction personal items. G-Dragon will be joined by fellow stars including Jo Se-ho, Jung Hyung-don, Defconn, Code Kunst, and actors like Hwang Jung-min, Lee Soo-hyuk, Im Si-wan, Hwang Kwang-hee, Jung Hae-in, and more, creating a vibrant atmosphere.
A preview clip released ahead of the broadcast highlights the moment when the group song is revealed. After much deliberation, G-Dragon chose to remake 'Telepathy' (텔레파시), originally released in 1988 by the group Doshi Ai (도시아이들). This funky city pop track is known for its catchy beat, which is sure to captivate listeners and heighten anticipation.
Upon hearing the song, Hong Jin-kyung exclaimed, "I love this song. It's art!" while Jung Hyung-don and Defconn couldn't help but move to the infectious rhythm. Even younger cast members, unfamiliar with Doshi Ai, were seen enjoying the tune. Fans are eager to see how G-Dragon will reinterpret this classic with the voices of over 30 participants for a 2025 version.
The recording session, led by G-Dragon, has also been revealed. He impressed many by being the first to record for his friends from the '88 generation, including Im Si-wan, Hwang Kwang-hee, and Jung Hae-in. G-Dragon infused his unique style into 'Telepathy,' even adding spontaneous rap elements, resulting in a fresh take on the song. Hwang Kwang-hee praised him, saying, "This is insane! He’s a true artist!"
G-Dragon's meticulous direction during the recording process drew attention as he provided detailed feedback to Jung Hae-in, encouraging him to unleash his imagination with the lyrics, likening it to acting. After receiving guidance, Jung Hae-in showed noticeable improvement. With the trusted band Day6 also set to join the project, anticipation is building for the final product of G-Dragon's production.
