Helicopter Crash During Daegu Wildfire Response Claims Pilot's Life
A tragic incident occurred on April 6, 2025, when a helicopter involved in firefighting efforts crashed in a mountainous area of Seobyun-dong, Buk-gu, Daegu. The fire broke out at approximately 3:12 PM, prompting the local fire department to deploy five helicopters, 24 vehicles, and 69 personnel to combat the flames. By 4:18 PM, the fire was under control. However, during the operation, a rented helicopter from the Dong-gu Office crashed, resulting in the death of the 73-year-old pilot, identified as Mr. A. The wreckage was found about 100 meters from the wildfire site, and it was confirmed that Mr. A was the sole occupant of the helicopter. Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
