DAY6's Agency Apologizes for Privacy Concerns at Fan Meeting

The recent fan meeting for DAY6 (데이식스) has sparked controversy due to excessive demands for personal information from staff members. In response, their agency, JYP Entertainment (JYP엔터테인먼트), has issued an apology and promised compensation. On July 21, JYP Entertainment released a statement on their official account, expressing regret for the inconvenience caused to attendees during the entry verification process at the DAY6 4TH FANMEETING. Reports surfaced on online communities about a minor fan who was unable to enter the venue despite having police verification of her identity, due to staff interference. This incident led to a flood of complaints regarding the overly stringent identity checks, with many attendees reporting that they were asked for additional personal information despite having already provided the required identification. As the situation escalated, JYP acknowledged the issue, stating, "We have confirmed the excessive demands for personal information and the collection practices that caused discomfort to our audience." They explained that the verification procedures were intended to distinguish genuine attendees from those attempting to illegally sell tickets, but admitted that they failed to manage the situation flexibly. JYP took full responsibility for the incident and assured that they would prevent any further invasion of privacy and unfair collection of personal data. They also promised refunds to those who were unable to enter the concert due to the excessive verification process, with further details on the compensation process to be announced later. Meanwhile, DAY6 is currently holding their fourth fan meeting, titled 'PIER 10: All My Days,' at the Jamsil Indoor Stadium from July 18 to 22 and again from July 25 to 27.
