Seo Hyorim, who splits her time between Seoul and Gapyeong, reassured her followers that there have been no casualties in her village, although she noted that nearby areas have suffered significant damage. She expressed her shock at experiencing the terrifying reality of landslides for the first time and hoped for no further harm.
On the same day, Gapyeong experienced intense rainfall, with reports indicating that around 76mm of rain fell per hour, leading to substantial damage. By 9:30 AM, the total rainfall had reached 197.5mm. According to the North Gyeonggi Fire Department, two fatalities have been reported in Gapyeong due to the heavy rains.
