Big Bang's Daesung Shares Thoughts on Marriage and Ideal Partner on 'My Little Old Boy'
On the April 6 episode of SBS's variety show My Little Old Boy (미운우리새끼), Daesung from Big Bang, who recently turned 35, opened up about his views on marriage and his ideal type. Previously, Daesung had expressed a firm intention to marry by the age of 40, stating, "I have always wanted to protect my family since I was young." When asked if he still feels that way, he admitted, "With only five years left until I turn 45, I’m starting to wonder if I should postpone it."
When questioned about whether he has gone on any blind dates, Daesung revealed, "I didn’t go on any blind dates until last year, but now I’m willing to meet someone trustworthy and see how it goes." His fellow cast members, Seo Jang-hoon and Shin Dong-yup, jokingly asked him what he would do if both G-Dragon and Taeyang recommended a blind date on the same day, to which Daesung humorously responded, "I would go crazy!"
He further clarified, "If it’s just for my brothers, I would choose Taeyang because he has experience as a married man." Daesung also reflected, "I believe getting married will change my perspective on the world," earning admiration from the others for his thoughtful response.
When asked about his ideal partner, Daesung mentioned, "I personally don’t have a strong desire for material things and I’m not interested in fashion. I hope my partner can understand that. I’m attracted to a simple style rather than something flashy, and they should meet my standards in terms of appearance." His comments led to laughter as the group concluded that he is looking for a beautiful yet frugal woman, to which Daesung affirmed, "Yes, they should not be materialistic."
