G-Dragon Chooses aespa at Charity Auction

On April 6, during the MBC show Good Day (굿데이), G-Dragon (지드래곤) made headlines by selecting the girl group aespa (에스파) at a charity auction. The auction featured a unique item, a card known as 'Jiyong Coupon' (지용권), which G-Dragon described as something he created himself, stating, "It's not a big deal, but it's a coupon for me."

When asked by Defconn (데프콘) if he would fulfill any request, G-Dragon confidently replied, "Anything." Defconn humorously suggested that G-Dragon could come over to help with spring cleaning, while Jo Se-ho (조세호) inquired if he could participate in challenges. Defconn confirmed that G-Dragon could be a cameo in a music video, a concert guest, or even feature on a track.

Hong Jin-kyung (홍진경) asked if they could do a duet, to which G-Dragon responded, "Once is possible." At this point, aespa's Ningning (닝닝) jokingly asked if he could catch cockroaches, prompting laughter from the group. G-Dragon admitted, "I’m good at catching bugs."

Kim Go-eun (김고은) expressed interest in collaborating on a project, and G-Dragon agreed, saying he would need to learn acting. Amidst the banter, Defconn asked Jung Hyung-don (정형돈) if he would participate, to which Jung Hyung-don humorously declined, stating he had no interest.

As the auction heated up, Chef Ahn Sung-jae (안성재) placed a bid of 3.8 million won, saying he wanted to try G-Dragon's cooking, to which G-Dragon expressed concern, admitting he wasn't a good cook. Ahn Sung-jae offered to teach him.

Defconn playfully scolded Hong Jin-kyung for spending a million won, to which she defended her decision, saying it was from the heart. Eventually, Defconn suggested that G-Dragon should choose the winner due to the intense competition, noting that bids were around 2 million won. Jo Se-ho argued that it was a worthy investment for marketing purposes.

After much deliberation, G-Dragon ultimately chose aespa. Ningning, who won the 'Jiyong Coupon,' asked if it meant catching cockroaches or featuring in a concert, to which G-Dragon replied, "Whatever you want." Jung Hyung-don humorously remarked that it would be funny if G-Dragon ended up catching cockroaches.

In conclusion, Defconn announced that the auction raised a total of 16,886,000 won, which would be donated entirely to the National Disaster Relief Association. He expressed gratitude for everyone's participation in this charitable cause.
