Yoo Hae-jin Shares Behind-the-Scenes Stories from 'Three Meals a Day' with Cha Seung-won
In the latest episode of '짠한형' aired on April 7, 2025, Yoo Hae-jin opened up about his experiences filming 'Three Meals a Day' alongside Cha Seung-won. The episode, titled 'EP. 87: The Temptation of a True Drinker and the Broken Return Button,' was shared on the show's YouTube channel.
During the discussion, Yoo Hae-jin reflected on how he stumbled into the variety show scene, stating, "I feel like it's another form of my work rather than just entertainment." Comedian Shin Dong-yup agreed, describing their collaboration as a "human documentary" featuring Cha Seung-won and Yoo Hae-jin.
Yoo Hae-jin reminisced about their time on Manjae Island, where they often shared drinks after filming wrapped around 11 PM. He noted, "We had cameras everywhere, so we would whisper to each other about things we couldn't discuss elsewhere." He expressed that despite the conflicts they faced during filming, he felt a strong bond had developed and was glad to have participated.
When Shin Dong-yup mentioned that Cha Seung-won is quite different from others, Yoo Hae-jin likened their personalities to fitness styles, saying, "Cha Seung-won is like a fitness enthusiast, while I prefer playing outdoors." He recalled feeling out of place at times, questioning the sincerity of their interactions, especially when others referred to him as 'senpai.' However, after six years of working together, he realized that Cha Seung-won's behavior was genuine and not pretentious, prompting him to adopt a more positive outlook on their relationship. Shin Dong-yup also noted that Cha Seung-won has a knack for delivering sharp remarks.
