Wendy and Yeri Depart from SM Entertainment

On April 4, 2025, SM Entertainment announced that Wendy (웬디) and Yeri (예리) of the popular girl group Red Velvet (레드벨벳) will be leaving the company as their exclusive contracts have ended. The agency expressed gratitude for the time spent with the two members, stating, "Wendy and Yeri have brought us immense joy through their diverse activities as both group members and solo artists since their debut with Red Velvet. We will cherish all the moments we've shared and sincerely support their new beginnings."

SM also confirmed that Wendy and Yeri will continue to participate in group activities as members of Red Velvet, encouraging fans to look forward to the group's future endeavors. Previously, other Red Velvet members, Seulgi (슬기), Irene (아이린), and Joy (조이), had renewed their contracts with SM Entertainment.
