Tony An Meets Actor Lim Hyun-sik on 'My Little Old Boy'
Tony An, a member of the first-generation K-pop idol group H.O.T, meets actor Lim Hyun-sik, who is set up on a blind date with Tony's mother, Lee Ok-jin. This encounter will be featured on the SBS TV variety show My Little Old Boy (미운 우리 새끼), airing on April 6 at 9 PM.
The two first met during a blind date last spring, where their playful interactions, including a humorous proposal for cohabitation and a 'ginseng candy necklace,' showcased the lighthearted side of dating in their 80s.
When Lim Hyun-sik reunites with the show's hosts, actor Lim Won-hee and comedian Kim Jun-ho, he is taken aback by Tony An's unexpected arrival. Tony, too, appears nervous as he meets his mother's date.
Viewers in the studio reacted enthusiastically, jokingly commenting that “Tony went to meet his father.” Lim Hyun-sik, sitting across from Tony, displayed a warm, fatherly smile, treating Tony with a noticeable difference compared to how he interacted with Lim Won-hee and Kim Jun-ho. He even suggested, “Why don’t you come live with me in the empty annex?”
Tony An shared a heartfelt confession, saying, “I used to wish I could be like Sun-dol. Someone like Teacher Hyun-sik is the figure I admired as a father.” When Kim Jun-ho encouraged him to call Lim Hyun-sik 'father,' Tony admitted he felt nervous, as it had been 17 years since he last used that term.
The production team hinted that the long-awaited reunion between Lim Hyun-sik and Tony's mother led to a touching moment, with Lim Hyun-sik's brave gesture receiving applause from the studio audience.
