Tony An Calls Im Hyun-sik 'Father' on Miwoo's Family

In the latest episode of SBS's variety show Miwoo's Family (미운우리새끼), which aired on April 6, 2025, Tony An (토니안) surprised viewers by calling Im Hyun-sik (임현식) 'Father.' The episode featured Tony visiting Im's home, a reunion that sparked fond memories from a year ago when Tony's mother had a brief romantic connection with Im. As Tony arrived, his mother expressed her delight at seeing him meet 'Father' on the monitor, while Im warmly welcomed him with 'Oh, Tony.' Tony introduced himself as the son of Mrs. Lee Ok-jin (이옥진).

During the visit, comedian Kim Jun-ho (김준호) jokingly mentioned that the guest house was empty and suggested it would be nice if Tony got married and returned. Im then asked Tony, who is over 40, if he was still single. Tony replied that he was still unmarried and that his mother was eager to see grandchildren. Im inquired if there were any discussions about him, to which Tony clarified that the conversation was about his own marriage, leading to laughter among the group.

The three men had gathered to help with household chores, but it was evident that Im was particularly attentive to Tony, leaving Kim and Im Won-hee (임원희) to do most of the work. Im then asked Tony what type of senior he preferred, to which Tony responded that he liked intelligent men. He added that he had a fantasy about men who could speak foreign languages, prompting Im to humorously claim he had studied Spanish at the University of Madrid.

When asked about his mother's attractive qualities, Tony described her as having a youthful spirit, reminiscent of a girl who loves poetry and flowers. At that moment, Tony's mother made a surprise appearance. Kim Jun-ho quipped that if things went well, Tony would have to call Im 'Father,' to which Im responded affirmatively. However, Tony revealed that his own father had passed away 17 years ago, making it difficult for him to call anyone 'Father' since then. He shared that his father had been married four times, resulting in four stepmothers.

Tony's mother encouraged him to call Im 'Father' since he had no father, and Im playfully urged Tony to try it after 17 years. Hesitantly, Tony called Im 'Father,' and Im responded with a cheerful 'Yes, my son,' which made Tony blush. After their meal, Tony suggested that the two of them go for a walk together, facilitating a bonding moment between them.
