On March 8, 2025, President Yoon Suk-yeol was released from the Seoul Detention Center in Gyeonggi Province. He stepped out of the facility at approximately 5:48 PM, greeting supporters with a bright smile and expressing his gratitude by saying, 'Thank you.'

He expressed his appreciation for the courage and decision of the Central District Court in correcting the illegalities surrounding his detention, and he thanked the leadership of the People Power Party and other related individuals.

Yoon also shared his sorrow upon hearing about the tragic news of a supporter who took their own life in protest of his imprisonment, offering his sincere condolences. He acknowledged that there are others still incarcerated in connection with his case and prayed for their swift release. Furthermore, he mentioned that some individuals are enduring hardships while fulfilling their duties as public officials under the constitutional authority of the presidency, and he wished for their quick release and good health.
