Stars Unite to Support Fire Victims in South Korea

In the wake of devastating wildfires that have left many residents homeless, several celebrities are stepping up to provide support in the affected areas. On April 2, actress Nam Bora shared on her personal account, "Today, I'm going to cook for the residents of Gyeongbuk. It's so heartbreaking. The entire way here, I saw blackened mountains. Shouldn't we start a tree-planting campaign?" She posted a video showing the charred landscape caused by the fires.

Nam Bora reflected on her childhood experiences of planting trees on Arbor Day, expressing her concern for the frightened residents. "Everything, from fields to orchards, has burned down. I can't even imagine how devastated they must feel. It's truly upsetting," she said. After her volunteer work, she noted, "The mountains are completely scorched, and just saying 'stay strong' made everyone burst into tears. My heart broke too. We really need help here; this is a national disaster. All the farms and livestock are gone."

Similarly, Jin from BTS (방탄소년단) also took action by volunteering in the fire-stricken area of Andong. On April 3, Big Hit Music confirmed to OSEN that Jin participated in volunteer activities to provide even a small amount of help to those affected by the fires.

Earlier that day, Jin was seen serving meals at Gilyang Middle School in Gyeongbuk's Andong City. Dressed in a black hat and cardigan, with an apron from the food service company The Born Korea, he was part of a free meal service initiative led by chef Baek Jong-won. Since March 28, The Born Korea has been preparing over 300 meals per serving to feed disaster victims and firefighters. Jin reportedly joined the effort at the invitation of his close friend, Baek Jong-won.

On April 4, actress Jang Young-ran, along with her husband, a traditional medicine doctor, also lent a helping hand. She shared on her personal account, "My husband's first overnight shift #medicalvolunteer," showcasing their visit to the wildfire-affected area. Her husband was seen diligently providing medical care.

Jang Young-ran added, "#StayStrongDisasterVictims" and shared photos from the scene, emphasizing the significant need for assistance due to the extensive damage caused by the wildfires.
