Police Restrict Gatherings Near Former President Yoon's Residence Following Impeachment Ruling

On April 4, 2025, the Constitutional Court of South Korea ruled in favor of the impeachment of former President Yoon Suk-yeol. In response, the police issued restrictions on planned gatherings around his residence in Acro Vista, located in the Seocho District of Seoul. The Seocho Police Station announced that gatherings reported by both pro-Yoon groups and progressive civic organizations would be limited due to their proximity to the Seoul Central District Court, where Yoon's trial is ongoing. A police official stated, 'Holding gatherings near the court could potentially influence the verdict.' Future gatherings in the vicinity will also face similar restrictions. Following the impeachment ruling, it is anticipated that Yoon will return to his residence in Acro Vista from the official residence in Hannam-dong, where he had been commuting for about six months before moving in as president.
