Park Han-byul Explains Why She Didn't Divorce Her Husband Involved in Burning Sun Scandal

Actress Park Han-byul (41) has opened up about her decision not to divorce her husband, Yoo Mo, who was implicated in the Burning Sun scandal. In an episode of TV Chosun's 'Dad and Me' aired on April 1, she shared her feelings during that tumultuous time, stating, "My story was everywhere—on TV, on phones, and in every conversation I had. I felt powerless, and each day felt like hell."
She expressed that it felt surreal, saying, "I often thought, 'Do I have to die for this to end?' I could hardly sleep, yet I had to continue filming, which was agonizing."
Park revealed that even her mother-in-law urged her to consider divorce, crying as she did so. However, she emphasized the importance of providing a stable emotional environment for her children, stating, "The child has done nothing wrong, and I made this choice because I value my family."
She also mentioned feeling a heavy sense of responsibility as a wife due to her husband's situation, saying, "I feel a lot of anxiety and fear just being on this show. I feel sorry for everything that's happened."
Park Han-byul married Yoo Mo in 2017 and they have two children together. Yoo was sentenced to 1 year and 8 months in prison with a 3-year probation for embezzlement and facilitating prostitution while he was a business partner of singer Seungri. He withdrew his appeal in 2021, finalizing his sentence. Since the scandal, Park has halted all entertainment activities and has been running a café in Jeju Island.
