Previously, the court had levied fines of 3 million and 5 million won due to his repeated absences, to which Lee submitted two objection forms on April 3. He has claimed that he is unable to attend due to other ongoing trials and his legislative duties.

If a witness fails to appear despite fines, the court can issue a summons or a detention order within seven days. However, as a sitting member of the National Assembly, Lee enjoys parliamentary immunity, meaning any compulsory summons would require the Assembly's consent.

The court noted, "Given that Lee is a current member of the National Assembly and has immunity from arrest, it is practically difficult to summon him without the Assembly's agreement. Even if we were to seek such consent, we cannot wait for the Assembly's decision every time a witness is called."

The prosecution expressed strong regret over the situation, stating, "It is disappointing that the judiciary has effectively refused to apply the law in this case, allowing Lee to disregard constitutional and legal obligations. They further commented, "The purpose of parliamentary immunity is to protect lawmakers from undue pressure, but it is regrettable that this has made summoning him as a witness so difficult."

The horses being exported are descendants of the Belgian and Percheron breeds, known for their excellent meat quality and marbling. Both breeds originated in Europe and are utilized as fattened horses in Japan.

The horses weigh between 700 to 800 kg and are aged 3 to 4 years. They will undergo a fattening process in the Kumamoto region of Japan for 3 to 6 months before being processed for distribution. Currently, the edible horses consumed in Jeju are hybrids of the Jeju horse, weighing around 400 kg.

To facilitate this export, Jeju has established a dedicated task force in collaboration with the Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency, the provincial animal health department, and the animal hygiene testing laboratory, completing a 30-day domestic quarantine process.

Kim Hyung-eun, the director of the Jeju Agricultural, Forestry, and Food Department, stated, "This export was made possible through a partnership between a local farm in Jeju and a Canadian meat company, which took about a year to prepare. We plan to promote the quality of Jeju horses internationally and diversify our export markets."

The parents also refuted speculation regarding Haerin's family matters, stating that any adjustments to parental rights were made with respect for the minor's wishes and that the family is resolute in their stance. They expressed a lack of trust in the management of ADOR and HYBE, stating, "As parents, we cannot send our children back there."

Currently, both the accounts created by NewJeans and those managed by their parents have been deleted, along with all previously posted statements, videos, and photos. This move has led to speculation that it may be a strategic decision in light of the impending legal battle with ADOR.

Last November, NewJeans announced the termination of their contract with ADOR and revealed plans to operate independently under the new name NJZ, even completing trademark registration. However, the Seoul Central District Court recently ruled in favor of ADOR regarding a request to maintain the group's status and prevent them from entering into advertising contracts, rejecting the members' claims of contract violations.

Despite respecting the court's decision, the members have referred to themselves as 'revolutionaries' and have refused to return to ADOR. Additionally, a lawsuit regarding the validity of their contract with ADOR is ongoing.
