Comedian Park Seong-kwang's Wife Lee Sol-i Reveals Cancer Battle Amidst Online Harassment

Lee Sol-i, the wife of comedian Park Seong-kwang, has opened up about her struggles with malicious online comments while revealing her battle with female cancer. On April 2, she shared a heartfelt post on her social media, detailing the emotional toll of the negative comments she faced after appearing on the SBS variety show, Same Bed, Different Dreams 2 (동상이몽2).
In her post, Lee expressed her confusion and despair, asking, "Why do trials come when I want to be happy and live well?" She recounted how, after working diligently for a year following her appearance on the show, she was forced to resign after receiving threatening messages.
Lee shared that shortly after leaving her job, she was diagnosed with cancer just five months later. Due to the nature of her illness, she is unable to have children, which has left her feeling guilty towards her parents and in-laws. "The prognosis was grim, and I faced significant despair, not knowing if I would live for another year or three," she revealed.
She described enduring six months of surgery and chemotherapy, struggling with severe side effects including vomiting, weight loss, and hair loss, while also managing frequent trips to the emergency room. Currently, she is still undergoing treatment and taking medication.
Despite her ongoing health challenges, Lee has been met with harsh criticism online, being labeled as a "luxurious woman" and accused of using her husband as an ATM. "I didn't want to share this story, but I was deeply hurt by being portrayed in such a distorted way," she admitted.
In her post, she also shared some of the hurtful comments directed at her, which included baseless accusations about her personal life and choices. This prompted her to reveal her situation in hopes of clarifying her circumstances.
In response to her candid revelation, fans and colleagues have rallied around her with messages of support. Former announcer Lee Ha-jung commented, "Sol-i, you are amazing for taking care of yourself and working hard! Stay strong!" Actress Shin Joo-ah also expressed her support, stating, "People often fail to see the truth, but there are many who care for you. Health is the most important thing. Let's live happily and healthily."
