Um Ji-in to Host First Solo Fan Meeting as KBS Announcer

In a groundbreaking announcement, Um Ji-in, a prominent KBS announcer, will hold the first-ever solo fan meeting for a KBS announcer on the upcoming episode of KBS2's 'Boss's Ears Are Donkey Ears' (사장님 귀는 당나귀 귀). This program, which focuses on self-reflection and empathy among bosses in South Korea, recently achieved a peak viewership rating of 7.8%, maintaining its position as the top entertainment show in its time slot for 148 consecutive weeks, according to Nielsen Korea.

During the 300th episode airing on April 6, Um Ji-in declared her intention to host this fan meeting, prompting fellow cast member Park Myung-soo to express concern, jokingly stating, "The show has ruined one person's life."

Um Ji-in boasted about her influence, claiming, "Hong Joo-yeon has become a genuine MC thanks to me," to which Park Myung-soo humorously retorted, "Everyone here has a delusion of grandeur," before correcting himself to say that Hong Joo-yeon owes her success to Hyun-moo.

The excitement surrounding Um Ji-in's fan meeting has sparked widespread attention, as she confidently stated, "I am the face of KBS and the representative announcer. I want to hold my first fan meeting, the first of its kind in the announcer's office." Her bold declaration left everyone momentarily speechless.

Hyun-moo added humorously, "We all need to go to a trauma center together," while Lee Soon-sil lamented, "Everyone is sick," eliciting laughter from the group.

To prepare for the fan meeting, Um Ji-in visited a local market to showcase her popularity, ordered 100 servings of rice cakes, and created photo cards to fill the KBS lobby with fans. While her junior announcers anticipated a low turnout, Um Ji-in confidently stated, "I’m a woman with a fan cafe," revealing a 14-year-old cafe with only five views, which left everyone embarrassed. Hyun-moo expressed his anticipation, saying, "It would be hilarious if the fan meeting actually happens."

On the day of the fan meeting, congratulatory flower arrangements from singer Seol Woon-do and composer Lee Ho-seob arrived, causing the announcers to look exhausted.
