Jung Jae-gwang Reveals His Weight Loss Journey and Daily Routine on MBC's 'I Live Alone'

Actor Jung Jae-gwang, who gained attention for his role in 'Trauma Center' (중증외상센터), recently shared that he was not always the slim figure he is today. In fact, he has lost an impressive 40 kg and continues to maintain his health by walking for eight hours a day.
On April 4, Jung made his variety show debut on MBC's 'I Live Alone' (나 혼자 산다), expressing his excitement and nervousness about appearing on the show. When SHINee's Key referred to him as a 'chameleon actor,' Jung laughed and noted that his ability to take on various roles sometimes leads to him being unrecognized, which he finds a bit disappointing.
During the episode, Jung shared insights into his daily life, starting each day with a morning prayer, expressing gratitude for the day ahead. His strict diet caught the attention of viewers, as he begins his meals with chicken breast. He revealed, "I once gained 8 kg in just a week. My highest weight was 110 kg," shocking everyone with his candidness.
He further explained that while filming 'The Outlaws 2' (범죄도시2) and 'Not Out' (낫아웃), he weighed 105 kg, but now he has slimmed down to 73 kg, attributing his weight management to his awareness of his body.
Comedian Park Na-rae humorously noted that he looks like someone who enjoys eating, while Jeon Hyun-moo commented on his tendency to sweat a lot, to which Park added that he has all the qualifications for palm oil.
Jung is also an avid walker, proudly stating that he walks for eight hours at a time. He shared that he walked from Shingumho to Sindang-dong and crossed the Dongho Bridge over the Han River, covering 7 km in about two hours. Park Na-rae jokingly questioned if such long walks could still be considered a stroll.
Reflecting on his walking habit, Jung mentioned, "I’ve been walking for 11 years. Initially, I walked 20 to 24 km a day to lose weight, and as I lost weight, I found joy in walking, making it my personal healing method." He also surprised the cast by stating that he found the military to be a very comfortable place for him.
