ZEROBASEONE Unveils Gift-Like Album 'PREZENT' Ahead of Japanese Debut

The K-pop group ZEROBASEONE (제로베이스원), consisting of Seong Han-bin, Kim Ji-woong, Zhang Hao, Seok Matthew, Kim Tae-rae, Ricky, Kim Gyu-bin, Park Geon-wook, and Han Yoo-jin, has revealed a sampler and music video teaser for their first Japanese EP, 'PREZENT' (프레젠트), on their official YouTube channel.

'PREZENT' is a special EP crafted for their dedicated fanbase, known as 'ZEROZ', celebrating their debut in Japan. The album features a total of six tracks, including four original Japanese songs and two Japanese versions of their Korean tracks. The album sampler showcases a miniature house designed with various windows, where objects related to each song appear as the tracks play. The music video teaser evokes the feel of a youthful film scene, heightening anticipation for the full music video release.

This album features a double title track format, showcasing ZEROBASEONE's diverse musical range. The first title track, 'NOW OR NEVER', conveys a heartfelt message of enduring love despite distance, blending drum and bass with rock sounds. The second title track, 'Only One Story', serves as an uplifting anthem for adventurers and has been selected as the latest opening theme for the popular Japanese anime 'Pokémon'.

Additionally, the album includes 'Firework', characterized by an uplifting disco house melody, and 'HANA', the group's first fan song in Japanese, which highlights the members' emotional delivery over powerful rock sounds. The Korean tracks 'Feel the POP' and 'GOOD SO BAD' have also been newly recorded in Japanese, adding richness to the album.

ZEROBASEONE made a remarkable debut last March with their first Japanese single 'ゆらゆら -運命の花- (Yurayura -Unmei no Hana-)', achieving 'Half Million Seller' status within a week. They have since received 'Double Platinum' certification from the Japan Record Association for exceeding 500,000 shipments. The single also topped Tower Records' '2024 Bestsellers' K-POP TOP 20 and ranked 16th on Billboard Japan's annual 'Top Single Sales' chart, further amplifying excitement for their upcoming EP 'PREZENT'.

As they prepare for the release of 'PREZENT' on January 29, ZEROBASEONE has announced a surprise comeback in Korea, capturing the attention of fans worldwide. They will also be releasing a pre-release track titled 'Doctor! Doctor!' on the 20th of next month.
