Yum Hye-ran Joins Hollywood Film 'The Hole' Directed by Kim Ji-woon

Actress Yum Hye-ran is set to make her Hollywood debut in the upcoming film 'The Hole' (더 홀), directed by Kim Ji-woon. According to reports on November 21, Yum has confirmed her participation in the film, which is based on the novel 'The Hole' by author Pyun Hye-young.
'The Hole' tells the story of a successful university professor in his 40s who faces shocking truths after losing his wife in a sudden accident. The original novel has received acclaim, winning the Shirley Jackson Award in the long fiction category.
Joining Yum in the cast is Hollywood actor Theo James, known for his roles in 'The White Lotus' and 'The Gentleman: The Series'. Additionally, Jung Ho-yeon, who gained international fame from 'Squid Game' and was nominated for an Emmy Award, will also star in the film. With Yum's addition, the film's lineup has become even more impressive. She previously made a special appearance in Kim Ji-woon’s film 'The House of the Spider'.
This marks a significant step for Yum Hye-ran as she ventures into Hollywood. She has already made a name for herself globally through her roles in Netflix series like 'The Glory' and 'Mask Girl', and she is expected to showcase her unique acting skills in this major new project.
In addition to 'The Hole', Yum is also set to appear in Park Chan-wook's upcoming film 'There’s No Way', collaborating with some of South Korea's top directors.
Yum Hye-ran debuted in 2004 with the play 'The Magician and the Accordion' and gained recognition in television with 'Dear My Friends' in 2016. She has demonstrated her versatile acting range in various dramas, including 'Goblin' (도깨비), 'Prison Playbook' (슬기로운 감빵생활), 'The Most Beautiful Goodbye in the World' (세상에서 가장 아름다운 이별), 'Lawless Lawyer' (무법변호사), 'Life' (라이프), 'When the Camellia Blooms' (동백꽃 필 무렵), 'The Glory', 'Mask Girl', and the 'Amazing Rumor' series.
Her impressive filmography also includes notable performances in films such as 'I Can Speak', 'Witness', 'Girl Cops', 'Boys', 'Woongnam', 'Citizen Deokhee', and 'Amazon Hwalmyungsoo'. With upcoming releases like the drama 'Poksak Sogassuda' and the film 'Mad Dance Office', Yum Hye-ran has firmly established herself as a beloved actress in South Korea, with a reputation for being part of every hit production.
