Yulhee Shares Her Thoughts on Her First Project After Divorce

Yulhee, former member of the girl group LABOUM, has opened up about her feelings regarding her first acting project following her divorce. On March 23, she released a video titled 'I’m Sharing My Experience of Getting Shaken Up While Filming. I’m Really Not Hurt!' on her YouTube channel, 'Yulhee's House.'

In the video, Yulhee prepared for her first shoot of 'My Partner is a Devil' by applying a skincare mask and reviewing her script while on the move. Once she arrived on set, she seemed fully immersed in her character, frequently referring to herself as 'Minjeong,' her character's name. Her representative humorously noted, 'Yulhee is so into her character that she keeps speaking informally,' to which Yulhee playfully responded, 'When did I do that?'

During filming, Yulhee checked her makeup and remarked, 'Why do I look so sad?' She displayed her friendly nature by warmly greeting fellow actors as they arrived in the waiting room. Notably, her co-stars even promoted her YouTube channel, showcasing their close bond.

While waiting, Yulhee sipped coffee and joked about her 'boss' bothering her, even acting out a skit. When the camera was on, she pretended to study her script, eliciting laughter. On the second day of filming, they shot in a room adorned with wedding photos, where Yulhee engaged in detailed discussions with the staff about emotional expressions to refine her character. When she struggled to memorize her lines, she attempted to turn them into a song but ended up frustrated, exclaiming, 'This is a disaster.'

By the third day of filming, Yulhee appeared increasingly fatigued. She shared, 'I got home late last night, and after washing up, it was already 4 AM. I briefly napped and left again at 7 AM,' expressing her exhaustion from the demanding schedule.

In a notable scene reminiscent of Jeon Ji-hyun's character in the film 'Assassination,' Yulhee showcased her dedication, even sustaining a leg injury that stained her socks with blood. She seemed to adapt to emotional scenes quickly, shedding tears during filming. Yulhee urged viewers, 'Please watch this. It’s not just an ordinary romance. Without the historical context, this drama wouldn’t be complete. It has a solid storyline, exciting love, and the actors' passionate performances make it enjoyable.'

After finishing her scenes, Yulhee found it hard to stop crying and needed some time to calm down. Transitioning back to modern scenes, she completed her final shoot and expressed her gratitude to the cast and crew with prepared gifts, moving everyone. Yulhee reflected, 'As the lead actress, I felt the pressure to memorize my lines quickly. The timeline was tight, and there were many lines, which was challenging, but the joy of being on set is indescribable. I was so focused that I didn’t even use the restroom or eat for two days.' She added, 'I felt so much from this project. But it doesn’t feel real. I feel like I need to keep filming. Is this how it feels for a first project? It’s refreshing yet bittersweet. I’m honored to have met such great actors and staff. This feeling is something I’ve never experienced since debuting in the entertainment industry.'

In related news, Yulhee divorced FTISLAND's Choi Min-hwan in 2023. While custody of their children was granted to Choi, Yulhee revealed last October that he had frequented establishments during their marriage. Choi was investigated by the police but was cleared of any charges.
