YouTuber Lee Jin-ho Calls Gaseyeon Press Conference a 'National Scam'
On May 7, YouTuber Lee Jin-ho held a press conference in Gangnam, Seoul, alongside Eun Hyun-jang, to counter the claims made by Gaseyeon. During the event, Lee referred to Gaseyeon's press conference as a 'national scam.' Earlier that day, Gaseyeon had revealed what they claimed were recordings of actress Kim Sae-ron, in which she allegedly stated, 'I truly believe this. Please keep this a secret. I dated Su-hyun oppa. You might think I'm crazy, but we dated from middle school until we broke up in college.'
Kim Sae-ron further expressed her fears about the people surrounding Su-hyun, describing them as 'gold medalists' who are 'really scary and do anything.' She mentioned feeling used since middle school and reflected on her past relationship, saying, 'I feel like I was taken advantage of.'
In response, Eun Hyun-jang asserted that all materials presented by Kim Se-yeon during the press conference were fabricated. He stated, 'I am Eun Hyun-jang, the operator of the YouTube channel 'The God of Business.' I have suffered greatly due to Kim Se-yeon's actions over the past year. I have many questions, and I believe the press does too.'
Lee Jin-ho then took the microphone to declare that the recordings released by Kim Se-yeon were manipulated. He began his statement by addressing the journalists present, explaining that the press conference was necessary to prevent further social tragedies. He noted that he had anticipated the content of Kim Se-yeon's press conference based on prior investigations.
Lee revealed that the core of this incident involved a con artist from New Jersey, who had contacted him under the name Kevin Oh. This individual claimed to have information regarding the Kim Su-hyun case and had met Kim Sae-ron in a Korean bar in New Jersey. Lee detailed how this con artist had requested $4,500 from Kim Sae-ron and recorded their conversation, which included statements about her relationship with Kim Su-hyun.
After further investigation, Lee discovered that the recordings were created using AI technology, which had been manipulated to sound like Kim Sae-ron. He expressed disbelief at the sophistication of the technology and confirmed that the con artist had also attempted to extort money from Kim Su-hyun's side.
Lee emphasized that the con artist's tactics involved contacting various parties to gather information and create false recordings. He criticized Kim Se-yeon for falling victim to this scam, despite having been urged to conduct proper investigations.
The press conference concluded with Lee urging journalists to hold Kim Se-yeon accountable for his reckless accusations, which have caused significant harm to many individuals in the entertainment industry. He called for an end to the unfounded claims and sensationalism that have plagued the media landscape, emphasizing the need for responsible journalism.
