YouTuber Kwak Jun-bin Expresses Condolences and Announces Donation Following Tragic Plane Crash

Kwak Jun-bin (곽준빈), known as KwakTube, recently shared news of his charitable donation while expressing his condolences for the victims of the recent Muan Airport plane crash. On the morning of December 29, a Jeju Air flight 7C2216 from Bangkok, Thailand, attempted to land at Muan International Airport but collided with a fence. The aircraft was severely damaged upon impact with the runway's outer wall, resulting in a fire that consumed most of the plane, leaving only the tail intact. Tragically, 179 people lost their lives, and 2 were rescued.
In light of this tragedy, fellow travel creator Pani Bottle also postponed the release of his travel content to honor the victims. Kwak Jun-bin took to his YouTube channel's community page to express his sorrow, stating, "It feels like a day when even saying 'hello' is difficult. I am deeply saddened and pained by this unbelievable situation. Words cannot express my condolences, but I extend my heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families."
He further announced, "I will be pausing the upload of my scheduled travel videos for now. May the deceased rest in peace."
Earlier in September, KwakTube faced controversy after a video of his trip to Rome, Italy, where he made comments that seemed to forgive fellow member Lee Na-eun amid allegations of bullying. Following the backlash, KwakTube issued two apologies, and Lee Na-eun temporarily halted her activities due to the controversy. Recently, on December 26, he shared the heartwarming news of a 20 million won donation, with the donation certificate listing KwakTube and his subscribers as contributors.
KwakTube explained, "Every year, I donate the profits from my merchandise sales at the end of the year, and this year, I was able to support the medical expenses for children suffering from heart disease. I am grateful for the opportunity to engage in meaningful activities and will continue to strive for good causes in the future."
Despite admitting that his company is currently operating at a loss, his announcement of the donation brought warmth to the community.
