YouTuber Aori Wins Medical Lawsuit Against Dermatology Clinic

YouTuber and model Aori (real name Kim Min-young) has emerged victorious in a medical lawsuit after suffering extensive bruising following a dermatological procedure. On May 16, the Seoul High Court's 13th Civil Division upheld the initial ruling, dismissing the compensation claim filed by a dermatology clinic in Gangnam, Seoul. The clinic did not appeal the decision, making the ruling final.
In 2021, Aori shared on her social media and YouTube that she experienced widespread bruising after receiving a health injection at the clinic, posting photos to document her condition. She raised concerns about the fact that the clinic's director's daughter assisted with the procedure instead of the director, the clinic's inadequate response regarding refunds, and discrepancies in the procedure's explanation and duration.
In response, the clinic filed a civil lawsuit claiming that Aori spread false information that harmed their reputation. However, the court ruled that the clinic's 11 claims did not constitute defamation.
Following her legal victory, Aori has been sharing joyful moments from her trip to Da Nang on Instagram.
Additionally, Aori's ex-husband, Seo Joo-won, faced a separate ruling for making derogatory comments about the clinic, resulting in a compensation order of 2 million KRW.
Aori, who began her career as a model for an online shopping mall, is now also running her own personal shopping business. She was previously married to Seo Joo-won, an F1 racer and entrepreneur who appeared in the first season of Channel A's reality show Heart Signal (하트시그널). Currently, Aori is active as a creator under Sandbox Network, continuing her work on her YouTube channel and social media.
