Young Tak Discusses Judging Style for Mister Trot 3

On December 19, during the online press conference for TV CHOSUN's Mister Trot 3, singer Young Tak shared insights about his approach to judging the contestants. Reflecting on his own experience from five years ago, he stated, "The tension from that time is still vivid in my mind. I empathize with the contestants' feelings and their attitudes as they prepare to perform."

Mister Trot, a national audition program that sparked a trot music craze in South Korea, is returning for its third season. Following the successes of Lim Young-woong in Season 1 and Ahn Sung-hoon in Season 2, fans are eager to see who will be crowned the next trot king.

The new season promises to build on the strengths and appeal of its predecessors while introducing various changes to enhance the scale and entertainment value. Notably, the judging format has been revamped. This season features a panel of national masters, including Jang Yoon-jung, Kim Yeon-ja, Jin Sung, Lee Kyung-kyu, Joo Young-hoon, So Yi-hyun, Boom, Siu Min, and Lee Eun-ji, alongside a senior master group consisting of Jang Min-ho, Young Tak, Kim Hee-jae, Lee Chan-won, Jung Dong-won, Na Sang-do, Ahn Sung-hoon, Park Ji-hyun, Jin Wook, and Park Seong-on. Contestants must secure a majority of hearts from both master groups to avoid immediate elimination, even if they receive all hearts from one group.

As a senior master, Young Tak plans to leverage his own experiences from Season 1 to guide the contestants. He remarked, "Five years have passed, but the excitement I felt back then is still fresh. I can relate to the contestants' nervousness as they step onto the stage. I hope they can perform their best without making mistakes, and I’m here to support them in that process."

Mister Trot 3 is set to premiere on TV CHOSUN at 10 PM on December 19.
