YOUNG POSSE Releases Their First Winter Season Song Featuring John Park
The K-pop group YOUNG POSSE (영파씨), consisting of members Jeong Seon-hye (정선혜), Wi Yeon-jeong (위연정), Gianna (지아나), Do-eun (도은), and Han Ji-eun (한지은), is set to unveil their debut winter season song today, December 13, at 6 PM KST across various music streaming platforms.
Titled 'ㄱㅓ리에서...(With 존박)', the track draws inspiration from the Motown era, echoing the melodies and sounds that defined American pop music, reminiscent of artists like Boyz II Men and Jodeci. Known for their strong rap performances in hip-hop tracks, YOUNG POSSE showcases their versatility by fully embracing R&B elements in this seasonal release, delivering a captivating sound.
The collaboration with singer John Park (존박) enhances the song's quality, as his deep narration and soulful backing vocals add depth to the overall mood. This unexpected partnership promises to create a unique synergy between the two artists.
Since their debut in October of last year, YOUNG POSSE has earned the nickname 'K-Pop's rebellious frog' for their bold and unconventional musical experiments. The title of their new song features a playful separation of the consonants and vowels in '거', which not only piques listeners' curiosity but also emphasizes the sincerity of the lyrics directed towards the subject 'you'.
'ㄱㅓ리에서...(With 존박)' marks YOUNG POSSE's first seasonal song since their debut. Throughout the year, they have actively engaged with fans through two EP releases, a North American tour, and fan concerts, maintaining a close connection with their audience as they wrap up the year.
Additionally, YOUNG POSSE will hold an encore fan concert titled 'YOUNG POSSE WINTER FAN CONCERT 'HOMECOMING POSSE'' on December 14 at the YES24 Wonder Hall in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, to celebrate the end of the year with their fans.
