YoonA Hosts Final '2024 MBC Gayo Daejejun' as MC

YoonA, a member of Girls' Generation and an actress, took on the role of MC for the last time at the '2024 MBC Gayo Daejejun' held on January 29. The event featured a spectacular stage showcasing K-pop artists' dreams, titled 'WANNABE', with YoonA co-hosting alongside Minho from SHINee and Dohun from TO1.

Reflecting on her decade-long journey as an MC, YoonA expressed her emotions, stating, "I am Im YoonA, your MC for the past 10 years." Her farewell message resonated deeply with the audience, marking a poignant moment as she announced her departure from the show.

"This year marks my 10th year as an MC for the Gayo Daejejun. I will continue to support and cheer for you all. I wish time would slow down today," she shared, maintaining a composed demeanor throughout the event. Dressed in black to honor the mourning period following the Jeju Air tragedy, YoonA's appearance added a somber tone to the celebration.

She also expressed excitement for the performances featuring the MZ generation's 'WANNABE' centers. Since 2015, YoonA has been a steadfast presence on the Gayo Daejejun stage, showcasing her unwavering charisma as a member of Girls' Generation and a current idol.

New idol groups paid tribute to their senior idols with special cover performances. NCT DREAM remade Girls' Generation's hit song 'Kissing You', delivering a refreshing and grand performance that thrilled fans. Boy Next Door and Zero Base One also showcased their unique interpretations of 'Mr. Mr.' by Girls' Generation, 'Playing with Fire' by BLACKPINK, and 'No.1' by BoA. After the performances, YoonA reminisced, saying, "I remember performing this song here too. It was wonderful. Thank you!"

In a light-hearted moment, co-host Dohun suggested they perform the point choreography for 'Mr. Mr.', to which YoonA happily obliged, delighting the audience. "You did great, Dohun! It’s been a while," she said, adding warmth to the event.
