Yoon Jong-shin Shines on Radio Star with Witty Remarks

On January 22, MBC's entertainment show Radio Star (라디오스타) featured a special episode titled 'Oh Singer Game' with guests Yoon Jong-shin, Kim Young-chul, Son Tae-jin, and Choi Sang-yeob from the band Lucy. During the show, Kim Gook-jin asked Yoon Jong-shin, who returned to Radio Star after six years, if he felt pleased watching the show lately. Yoon replied, 'I don’t watch it much, only when I’m on it,' but praised the current cast, especially noting how they handled the 700th episode after the departure of Yoo Se-yoon.
Yoon Jong-shin analyzed the different MCs, commenting on Kim Gook-jin's unique presence and how he has found stability in his role. He humorously remarked on Yoo Se-yoon's past, saying, 'He was once a criminal, right?' which drew laughter from the audience. He also praised Jang Do-yeon, stating that while she appears bright on screen, she is surprisingly reserved off-camera.
When asked if he had any lingering feelings about Radio Star, Yoon Jong-shin firmly stated, 'I have no regrets about Radio Star.' He also discussed his hit song 'Like It' (좋니), revealing that he wrote it at the age of 49, emphasizing that age does not limit the ability to express emotions.
Kim Gook-ra playfully questioned whether the coldness in his home life contributed to his songwriting, to which Yoon responded that while it wasn't as cold as Gook-ra suggested, it did help him understand the feelings associated with love and breakups. He noted that younger audiences began to resonate with the song months after its release.
Yoon revealed that his most profitable song is not 'Patbingsu' (팥빙수), as the MCs guessed, but rather 'Rebirth' (환생), released in 1996, which has been widely used in advertisements, dramas, and films. He shared that the song 'Oh, How Amazing' (오 놀라워라) has been particularly popular in commercials and continues to receive requests even after 30 years. He concluded by mentioning that his top-earning song is 'Instinctively' (본능적으로), which is frequently sung in karaoke by young men in front of women.
