Yoo Yeon-seok Forgives Chae Soo-bin in Latest Episode of 'The Call You Make'

In the latest episode of MBC's weekend drama 'The Call You Make' (지금 거신 전화는), which aired on December 20, Yoo Yeon-seok's character, Baek Sa-eon, and Chae Soo-bin's character, Hong Hee-joo, shared a passionate kiss that ignited their romantic tension. The episode achieved a nationwide viewership rating of 6% and 5.1% in the metropolitan area, captivating audiences with its gripping storyline.
During the episode, Sa-eon rescued the stranded Hee-joo and brought her to the hospital. Overcome with emotion at her plea for him not to leave, Sa-eon vowed to return the pain inflicted by the kidnapper (played by Park Jae-yoon) who had caused Hee-joo's fall. This led him to launch a thorough investigation into the kidnapper, keeping viewers on the edge of their seats.
Meanwhile, Hee-joo's feelings for Sa-eon deepened due to their conversations on the night of her accident. As she recovered under his devoted care, she became confused by his unusual behavior, wondering if he had discovered her identity as '406'.
Sa-eon, understanding that Hee-joo needed stability, refrained from pressuring her and resumed communication through a threatening phone. He flirted with her, asking, "Are you pretty? What are you wearing right now?" Unaware of his true intentions, Hee-joo displayed jealousy, adding a light-hearted moment to the tension. Sa-eon then proposed that they work together to catch the kidnapper, heightening the suspense.
In a parallel storyline, Baek Ui-yong (played by Yoo Sung-joo), a leading presidential candidate and Sa-eon's father, attempted to manipulate public opinion following the incident. Sa-eon, realizing his father's political maneuvering, decided to confront the kidnapper using the information he had gathered. In a police interrogation room, he expressed his belief that the kidnapper was not acting alone, increasing the drama's tension.
As Hee-joo became increasingly anxious after seeing negative comments about Sa-eon, she received a message from the kidnapper stating he would come to retrieve the threatening phone. Finding her terrified, Sa-eon comforted her, saying, "You just need to have good dreams," showcasing his deep affection for her.
Towards the end of the episode, Hee-joo, fearful of facing Sa-eon as '406', promised to confess everything to him. However, when she approached him with the threatening phone, he only instructed her to meet him at an amusement park—a location that held traumatic memories for her due to a childhood incident involving her younger brother.
As Hee-joo walked through the amusement park while on the phone with Sa-eon, they finally met face to face. Sa-eon expressed gratitude for her efforts, saying, "Thank you for all your hard work, 406," before ending the call. Overwhelmed with guilt and regret, Hee-joo shed tears, prompting Sa-eon to express his genuine feelings for her with a tender kiss. This moment marked a significant turning point in their relationship, leaving viewers eager for what lies ahead for the 'Sa-joo couple'.
The next episode of 'The Call You Make' will air on December 21 at 9:50 PM.
