Yoo Yeon-seok Discusses Competition with 'Hot Blooded Priest 2' at 'Call You Now' Press Conference

Actor Yoo Yeon-seok addressed the competition with another drama during the press conference for the new MBC Friday-Saturday series '지금 거신 전화는' (Call You Now) held on November 21 at the Golden Mouse Hall in MBC's Sangam building. He stated, "I also enjoyed watching '열혈사제' (Hot Blooded Priest), but there is definitely a difference in genre."

'Call You Now' is a romantic thriller that revolves around a secret relationship of a couple in a politically arranged marriage, sparked by a threatening phone call. The series is based on a popular web novel of the same name from KakaoPage, which has already generated significant anticipation among fans of the original work.

The script is penned by writer Kim Ji-woon, known for his solid storytelling in dramas like '멜랑꼴리아' (Melancholia) and '의사요한' (Doctor John), while the direction is handled by Park Sang-woo, who has showcased his unique visual style and meticulous direction in works such as '금혼령, 조선혼인금지령' (The Forbidden Marriage). The cast includes reliable actors Yoo Yeon-seok, Chae Soo-bin, Heo Nam-jun, and Jang Gyu-ri, promising the birth of a remarkable drama.

Notably, 'Call You Now' will air at the same time as the second season of the popular SBS drama '열혈사제2' (Hot Blooded Priest 2), which may add pressure on the lead actors. Yoo Yeon-seok, who plays the role of Baek Sa-eon, a character with no shortcomings in family background, looks, or abilities, mentioned, "Coincidentally, I promoted both shows on the variety program I am part of. I found 'Hot Blooded Priest' enjoyable as well."

He added, "However, there is a clear genre difference between our work and theirs. I believe viewers who are interested in a blend of thriller and romance will choose to watch our series."
