Yoo Jae-suk Achieves 20th Grand Prize at 2024 SBS Entertainment Awards

On January 29, 2025, the 2024 SBS Entertainment Awards took place at the SBS Prism Tower in Sangam-dong, Seoul, hosted by Jeon Hyun-moo, Lee Hyun-yi, and Jang Do-yeon. Originally scheduled for December 31, the event was postponed due to a national mourning period following a Jeju Air plane accident. After discussions, the ceremony was rescheduled for January 29, with the original hosts remaining unchanged.

Yoo Jae-suk, Jeon Hyun-moo, Shin Dong-yup, Lee Sang-min, Seo Jang-hoon, Lee Hyun-yi, and Kim Jong-kook were nominated for the prestigious Grand Prize, which ultimately went to Yoo Jae-suk. Upon receiving the award, he expressed his gratitude, saying, "Thank you so much. I am at a loss for words on how to express my thanks. I want to thank my parents, my in-laws, my beloved Kyung-eun, and the production team and staff. Special thanks to my co-hosts Yeon-seok from '틈만나면' and my '런닝맨' family, including Se-chan, Seok-sam, Jong-kook, Haha, Ji-hyo, and our new member Ye-eun, as well as the occasional guest Kang-hoon, and of course, our viewers."

Reflecting on his career, Yoo noted, "I received my first Grand Prize in 2005, and today marks my 20th. I never imagined this day would come, and achieving this milestone after 20 years is incredibly meaningful. Thanks to the support for '런닝맨,' the longest-running variety show this year, and the love for '틈만나면,' I am truly grateful."

He continued, "I have been part of SBS's Sunday variety shows for 22 years, from 'X-Man' to 'Family Outing' and 'Running Man.' This achievement is possible because of the support from many people. The entertainment environment is becoming increasingly challenging, and resources are not as abundant as before. I want to sincerely thank all the staff and my colleagues for their hard work in 2024. I will continue to strive to bring laughter in 2025, as we truly need it now. Happy New Year, and I did it!"

Yoo Jae-suk has made history with '런닝맨,' which recently celebrated its 700th episode, solidifying its status as the longest-running variety show in South Korea. He also showcased great chemistry with actor Yoo Yeon-seok in the newly launched program '틈만나면,' which is preparing for its new season. The show, which premiered in April 2024, achieved the highest ratings in its time slot and ended its season with impressive viewership.

This year marks Yoo Jae-suk's 20th Grand Prize, breaking a nine-year streak since his last win at the 2022 SBS Entertainment Awards. With 20 awards under his belt, fans eagerly anticipate what he will bring in the future.
