Yoo Jae-suk and Hwang Jung-min's 'Pungyanggo' Paused Due to National Emergency and Impeachment Fallout

'Pungyanggo' will take a break this week due to the national emergency declared by President Yoon Suk-yeol and the ongoing impeachment discussions. The production team of the YouTube channel 'Tteun Tteun' announced on December 6 that the episode scheduled for December 8 will not be released as planned.
'Pungyanggo' is a spin-off of the web entertainment show 'Pinggaego,' inspired by a slip of the tongue from actor Hwang Jung-min, who mistakenly referred to it as 'Pungyanggo.' The show, hosted by Yoo Jae-suk, features a travel concept where the cast, including Hwang Jung-min, broadcaster Ji Seok-jin, and Yang Se-chan, embarks on an impromptu overseas trip to Hanoi, Vietnam, guided by the winds.
The first episode, released on November 24, garnered significant attention, attracting over 87,000 live viewers and surpassing 2.8 million views within a day. Its lengthy runtime of 100 minutes even propelled it to the second spot on YouTube's trending videos, marking a notable achievement for long-form content in a platform dominated by shorter clips.
However, on the night of December 3, President Yoon Suk-yeol declared a national emergency from the Yongsan Presidential Office, leading to a vote in the National Assembly where 190 members unanimously supported a motion to lift the emergency. The emergency was officially lifted early on December 4.
This unprecedented declaration shocked the world and has since escalated into discussions surrounding the President's impeachment, with a vote scheduled in the National Assembly on December 7.
