Yoo Jae-suk Addresses Controversy Over Profanity on 'How Do You Play?'

On the February 15 episode of MBC's How Do You Play? (놀면 뭐하니?), Yoo Jae-suk addressed the controversy surrounding his alleged use of profanity, which was brought to light by Lee Yi-kyung. The issue originated during the Lunar New Year special 'Hangnim, What Are You Doing?' where Lee Yi-kyung revealed that he had a drinking session with advertisers the night before filming, leading to a peculiar routine of drinking before recordings. He claimed that Yoo Jae-suk was aware of this and humorously mentioned receiving a call where he was scolded with harsh language, even receiving a final warning.
In response, Yoo Jae-suk expressed his confusion, stating, "When did I ever use profanity? The main point is to avoid drinking, yet here we are discussing swearing." He admitted to possibly saying something like, "Hey, you rascal," but insisted that the claims of him using profanity were exaggerated. Lee Yi-kyung attempted to lighten the mood by congratulating him on his award.
Later, while meeting with actress Shim Eun-kyung, Yoo Jae-suk reiterated his stance on the matter, clarifying that he was accused of calling someone a 'fool' and questioned whether that truly qualifies as profanity. He also commented on the exaggerated stories surrounding Ha Ha's tardiness, pointing out that Lee Yi-kyung tends to mix things up in his storytelling, suggesting that he is still learning the ropes of variety shows.
